The Lakehouse

This restaurant has delicious food. My family loved the catfish. The chicken fried steak and the grilled chicken is really good. So good at came back two days in a row while visiting. The sweet tea is phenomenal and fresh. The rolls, okra, and mash potatoes are definitely home made.

Food was amazing. It's a family friendly restaurant that I recommend. It has such a relaxing family environment it's just great. And the employees I saw there were all smiling and so nice. I got the chicken fried steak and it was so delicious. I also got fried okra and mashed potatoes and those were so delicious as well. If your in kerrville I highly recommend this restaurant. I gave a 4 star on the service because most of the drinks were empty for quite a while but they got refilled and the waitress was very nice as well.

Great food! The service was good and the atmosphere was nice! The onion rings are amazing and the Mahi was cooked to perfection!

A group of 10 had dinner here. We had made reservations and our table was ready upon arrival. The service was excellent and the food was really good. We were all happy with the quantity and quality of the servings. Casual atmosphere. Highly recommend this restaurant. Excellent seafood menu.

Amazing home style cooking restaurant. We were greeted immediately and sat down by the windows overlooking the river. The service by Jose was fast and very friendly. He is funny and made great recommendations. The food is very good, huge portions. Highly recommend the catfish, shrimp, and chicken fried steak. Finish off with the blackberry cobler. I would drive an hour from San Antonio just to come back again.

So much food! But it was all good and quite quickly served. Friendly staff. Nice atmosphere. It's not very fancy. Everything's deep fried. We shared a desert, more than enough!

4/12/2025 1:30pm. Saturday Stopped here on our way to visiting the Wyndham resort in Hunt. As always, we 1st pull up the yelp reviews and saw that it was 4.5 stars. I said to my wife, “this should be a good place to eat.” Bottom Line It was! Food: OFF the back page ( small plates) we ordered 1 Catfish plate and 1 shrimp plate and then shared. (Very reasonable pricing LOTS of food ! ) Catfish was so good I enjoyed it as is. It didn’t need Tatar Sauce or Cocktail Sauce. It was that good. Shrimp was also very good. 1/2 order of Onion Rings - Huge ! ( Cocktail sauce is very good. I suspect it’s made on site. - could be wrong ) Wait Staff ; we had a very helpful and attentive waiter. Not annoying, but just right. I stopped and talked with the on duty manager. A young guy like 28. I frequently visit with the MGR to give them a heads up on a coming review. Interesting note this manager I witness bussing a table when we first came in. It’s nice to see management jumping in to help when needed. I will agree with the reviewer Garcia. The gal at the cash register ( we cashed out with our waiter ) was totally disengaged with the business, but was locked in on that phone in her hands. I’m sure she didn’t see us come or go. Why do workers need a phone at work?. They are “supposed” to be WORKING!! A systemic problem with today’s youth. In conclusion, great place to eat, great wait staff, great value, overall five-star satisfied !

Amazing fried catfish. Cooked perfectly and not over sseasoned. View of the river was awesome. Great service. Plenty of parking. Appreciated the smaller portion menu for those of us who can't eat as much as we used to! Peach cobbler was awesome!
